“There are three ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind.”
– Fred Rogers
What an extremely valuable lesson this is. To be honest, it is a motto that we should all live by each and every day. Just think about what a difference we can make to each other’s lives simply by being kind? It’s a wonderful quality to contemplate during the Summer Solstice at a time when there appears to be so much conflict in the world.
Random Acts of Kindness
Imagine how the pattern of our lives can be woven from this philosophy. The idea is that we look to set in motion a circular effect that can creates for all of us all we could ever hope for and more. What we do for others will certainly come back to us. A random act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a tremendous impact on someone else’s life. We only need to think about how we feel when it happens to us.
Choosing Kindness in Conflict
You can still be kind even during arguments. It doesn’t mean just being a doormat and doing what others want. You can accept that everyone has a valid point of view, and still be mindful not to dominate and bend others to your will. Self honesty plays a vital role in our choices how to deal with conflict, whether it is with family members, friends or any perceived enemies. And kindness is naturally compassionate.
Being kind can help you to succeed in many ways
It seems hard to understand why more people don’t seem to realize that it is important to be kind, and also that it works in your favour as well! What’s even more thought provoking is that when you are kind, you can also be more successful. Being kind can help you to succeed in many ways. Creating a win-win all round. People will always remember how you made them feel.
And, some believe that being kind slows the aging process, which makes sense when you realise that choosing kindness reduces your stress (and those around you)! Peace begins with us.
