Finding The Perfect Location for Bowerland Cottages

Lauren and her family searched for some time before finding the perfect Bowerland Cottages site. They sought help from the property renovation experts Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer on Channel 4’s Relocation Relocation.

With Kirstie and Phil’s help, Lauren closed on a neglected property in Okehampton, Devon. She saw huge potential in the site, which she revamped into a state-of-the-art dog training space with rustic holiday cottages. 10 years later, Lauren appeared on another episode of the television show. During this episode, Kirstie and Phil document the upgrades she has made.

Lauren has given each cottage a personal touch. For example, those staying at Old Dairy Cottage can enjoy a herb garden. Meanwhile, those staying at Parsley Cottage can cosy up with the wood burner and indoor dog training room — perfect for rainy weather.

Another option, Holly Hock Cottage, sits on a farm where guests can walk around three lakes, visit the animals, and collect free-range eggs from the chickens. The barn conversion comes complete with an outdoor hot tub to enjoy the sunset after training.

These are just a few of the luxury cottages that Lauren has developed and refurbished over the years. Some are within a minute’s walk of the training arena. Others offer a secluded spot, tucked even deeper in the countryside. Despite their remote locations, these cottages are within a short walk of the arena.

Expert Dog Training

Lauren is the mind behind the expert training that you will receive during your Bowerland Cottages stay. Her training style upholds positivity at all times, encouraging rewards and never punishing dogs when they get it “wrong.” The training shows owners how to tackle challenging scenarios before they arise, taking a pre-emptive rather than reactive approach.

Some owners also sign up for Devon Dogs’ in-person and digital training offers, which Lauren’s team offers at the same site.
