Creating Calm & Positive Flow

Spring is a really great time to de-clutter, and tidy your home and work space. In fact, to sort out any space that you occupy. The garden can also do with a clean up at this time of year. 🙂

Tidy house, tidy mind

There is a saying: “A tidy house creates a tidy mind.” I fully believe that. But sometimes we let things get on top of us. We hoard and clutter up our lives, which contribute to our anxiety, discomfort and stress. There are, however, a few simple things we can do easily and quickly to change that!

Give yourself time

Preparation is really important. Give yourself time, and the right sort of time. For example, first thing in the morning, or on a rainy afternoon perhaps. Not at the end of the day when you are tired, you still have dinner to prepare and it just seems like another chore.

Ask for help

Try asking for help from a close friend or colleague. Make sure it isn’t someone who will question what you want to get rid of. The last thing you want is someone saying, “Oh no, don’t get rid of that, you must keep it.” Similarly, children hate to get rid of anything and want to hang onto old toys, old clothes. So make sure they are out of the house while you are de-cluttering.
