Get into the holiday spirit with these red and green Christmas themed cookies for your dog! (Recipe from You Bake ‘Em Dog Biscuits recipe book)
Ingredients
- 3¼ cups plain flour
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- ½ cup tomato juice
- 1½ cups spinach leaves
- ¼ cup water
Method
- Pre-heat oven to 325 F
- Blend the flour and cheese in a large bowl
- Put 2 ¼ cups of the mixture into a food processor and add the tomato juice and 1 tablespoon of oil
- Mix together until a ball of red dough forms
- Remove dough from the food processor and set aside
- Rinse out the food processor and then add the spinach, blend the spinach, adding water as you go
- Continue until the spinach is finely chopped
- Add the remaining tablespoon of oil and remaining two cups of the flour mixture
- Process to form a green dough
- Roll both the red and green dough out separately, a a lightly floured surface
- Try to make they the same size, then stack on onto of the other and lightly roll again
- Use cookies cutters to cut out the cookies
- After cutting out the cookies, mash the scraps together and roll flat again
- Use a pizza cutter to score the scraps unto small confetti-like squares for two-toned training treats
- Bake the cookies and training treats for 25-30 minutes
